# Friends' world clock

A world clock for people rather than cities. Add the friends and family you keep in touch with and see at a glance whose morning it is, who is probably asleep and who is a day ahead of you.

## Using the world clock

Type a name, start typing where that person lives and pick the place from the list, then press **Add friend**. Each card shows their time, their date (with "tomorrow" or "yesterday" when it differs from yours), the part of their day and how far ahead or behind you they are. The clocks tick live and the list is saved on this device for next time.

Use the arrow to move someone up, the pencil to rename them, and **Order** to sort by name or from the earliest clock to the latest. **Copy times** gives a quick text list for a group chat; **Copy list link** moves your list to another device, and **Plan a meeting** opens everyone in the meeting planner.

## Day, night and "probably asleep"

The small sun or moon circling each dial shows the time of day on a 24-hour track, noon at the top and midnight at the bottom. Morning, afternoon, evening and night are read from the clock (night is 21:00 to 05:00), not from real sunrise, which varies with season and latitude. If your own device sits on the wrong zone, for example after travelling, set **Your place** by hand.

## Questions

**Why is my friend's offset different from last month?**

One of you has probably switched to or from daylight saving time. The world clock always uses the rules in force at this moment, so differences of 4 or 5 hours, say, can change twice a year.

**Are my friends' names stored anywhere?**

Only in your browser's local storage on this device. Nothing is sent to a server. A copied list link carries the names after the # in the address, so share it only with people you trust.

**Can I add a place without a person?**

Yes. Leave the name empty and the card shows the place and its time zone instead.
