# Meeting planner across time zones

Add the people you want to meet and where they are. Their days line up hour by hour, shaded for work, waking and sleeping time, so a fair slot stands out. Pick one and send it.

- Working hours
- Awake, free
- Night
- Weekend

## Your pick

- AnaNew York Fri 30 Oct, 09:00–10:00EDT · UTC−4 working hours
- KenjiTokyo Fri 30 Oct, 22:00–23:00UTC+9 awake, outside work

## How to plan across time zones

1. Your own place is filled in from your device. Add everyone else with the search box: a city, a country, an abbreviation such as CET or an offset such as UTC+5:30.
2. Open the clock button on a row to set that person's working and waking hours, and their weekend.
3. Choose the date. The columns follow the day of the person in **Columns follow**.
4. Click a column, or use the arrow keys on the time row. **Suggest a time** picks the hour that is kindest to whoever is worst off.
5. Copy the times into a message, download a calendar file, or copy the link.

## Reading the grid

Green cells are working hours, yellow ones are waking hours outside work, and dark ones are night. Striped cells fall on that person's weekend. A small date marks where someone's day turns over, so a Friday evening for you can show as Saturday morning for a friend in Sydney. Half-hour and 45-minute zones, such as India and Nepal, show their minutes in each cell.

Two free tools from elsewhere that come in handy when your plans involve sign-ups and links from people far away.

### Sign up for online events with a spare inbox

A webinar in another time zone or a one-off online meetup that wants your email before it shows the link? CleanTempMail gives you a temporary address with no sign-up, and its inbox deletes itself after three days, so later newsletters do not follow you home.

### Unfamiliar call links, opened at a distance

Got a meeting link from someone you have never met? WebTraceCheck opens it in a disposable cloud browser on an isolated desktop that is deleted when you finish, and its free DNS and domain lookup shows who stands behind the address.

## Questions

**Why does the grid sometimes have 23 or 25 columns?**

On the day that place changes its clocks for daylight saving time, its day really is 23 or 25 hours long. The grid shows every real hour, so no slot is lost or counted twice.

**Is the share link private?**

The setup sits after the # in the link, a part browsers do not send to the web server. Anyone you give the link to can read the names in it, so only send it to the people in the plan.

**Can I plan with someone who works nights?**

Yes. Hours can run past midnight: set working hours from 22:00 to 06:00 and awake from 16:00 to 08:00, and the grid shades their day correctly.
